In this Season 1 Finale, we sit down to reflect on a whirlwind end to the year — from the chaos and magic of Christmas to the big changes ahead.
We start by recapping how we each spent the holidays with our families and how Christmas looks different as adults. We talk about shifting traditions, navigating the stress and unpredictability of the season (and the emotions that come with it), and what it’s like to experience Christmas through the eyes of the kids in our lives.
Then, as if the season wasn’t already full enough, we share some big news: we’re moving. We talk honestly about being in denial and how surreal it feels to say goodbye to the Platonic Soulmates household. We reflect on the growth, the memories, and how rare and meaningful this chapter has been — one we know we’ll be telling our kids about someday.
The episode ends with us looking ahead to Season 2, sharing what’s next for the podcast and the excitement we feel stepping into a new season of life together. We close out the season by honoring what this chapter gave us, showing gratitude for all the love and support we received, and anxiously awaiting what’s unfolding next.. We can't wait!

In this episode, we take a deeper look into the conversations that shaped our time abroad and the perspectives that will stay with us long after the trip ended. While in Ireland we had the opportunity to sit down with people from different chapters of life and different backgrounds and those conversations became the heart of this episode.
We begin with a conversation surrounding grief with Dolcie’s longtime friend Shannon, exploring how loss changes us, how it’s carried over time, and what it looks like to hold space for grief while continuing to live fully. We even talk about what grief looks like for those like Tristen, who has not experienced significant loss through death but rather through strained familial relationships. We then talk with our Airbnb host Declan about romantic relationships, and the wisdom that comes from lived experience through divorce and finding love again decades later. Finally, we share a meaningful conversation with two women we met at a local café about using your voice and platform to foster community, connection, and belonging.
This episode centers on the importance of travel, expanding your worldview, and listening to perspectives beyond your own. We reflect on how human connection transcends borders, why curiosity and openness matter, and how valuing the humanity of others can deepen empathy, understanding, and growth.
If you’ve ever felt changed by a conversation, inspired by a stranger, or reminded that the world is both bigger and more connected than it seems, this episode is for you.

In this episode, we recap our recent trip to Ireland, sharing stories from Dublin, Cork, and Kilkenny and reflecting on why this journey meant so much to both of us.
We talk about classic Dublin adventures, including visits to the National Gallery of Ireland, a vintage tea bus tour, unforgettable meals, chaotic run-ins with strangers, and a lively night at a Christmas-themed pub that perfectly captured the magic Tristen remembered from her time abroad.
Our trip continued to the countryside outside Cork, where we stayed at a cozy Airbnb hosted by Declan and Marie, who quickly became our honorary Irish parents. We share stories about Irish hospitality, homemade baked goods, cheeky humor, and meaningful moments at Blarney Castle, where Tristen recreated a study abroad photo and Dolcie honored her mom by spreading some of her ashes.
We ended the journey in Kilkenny with one of Tristen’s study abroad friends, fitting castles, cathedrals, and historic pubs into a single day. This episode is a reflection on friendship, nostalgia, grief, and the beauty of travel not going exactly to plan—but still being everything you hoped for.

In this week’s episode, we catch you up on the last few weeks. Dolcie shares about her recent work trip and leadership training, and Tristen launches a new segment called “People Who Should Sponsor Me,” featuring her latest productivity tool, Brick, and how it’s helping her break her phone addiction.
From there, we dive into the art of gift giving — creating a gift list, choosing between surprises or requested gifts, navigating gifts you don’t love, and Dolcie’s stories about her mom’s memorable gift-giving habits.
For our question segment, we answer: “What's one millennial habit you've never given up?” Cue nostalgia: early social media during the pandemic, Myspace layouts, Dolcie finally getting Facebook, Tristen's Top 8 drama, AIM usernames, and the best parts of early internet culture.
We close with a teaser: we’re heading overseas this week… and there’s a hint sprinkled somewhere in the episode! Stay tuned to see where we're off to!
Join us this week for laughs, millennial nostalgia, gift-giving chaos, and a little mystery.

This week’s episode starts off light and full of laughter — from Halloween weekend stories and a food truck festival to comfort-food confessions (yes, Dolcie’s in a sourdough era and Tristen’s cosmic apples are truly out of this world). But midway through, the tone shifts as we dive into the complex and deeply human experience of anticipatory grief — the grief that begins before loss actually happens.
Dolcie shares what it was like to love and grieve her mom at the same time, finding moments of joy and connection while knowing her time was limited. Tristen opens up about how anticipatory grief shows up in her romantic relationships and in her ongoing search for stability after so many unexpected life changes. Together, we talk about how hard it can be to hold space for both joy and sorrow — and how learning self-regulation, co-regulation, and mindfulness in the present moment can help us move through grief with compassion and grace.
If you’ve ever felt guilty for feeling happy while grieving, or struggled to stay grounded when the fear of loss takes over, this conversation is for you.

Inspired by Jay Shetty's recent interview with Emma Watson, we’re unpacking the pressures of getting married — from our experiences growing up in the church where marriage and motherhood were seen as the ultimate goals, to how it feels navigating our thirties unmarried.

We talk about societal and religious expectations placed on women, how those ideals shaped our early twenties, and how our perspectives have evolved over time. We also discuss why our culture often fails to set marriages up for success, and what it looks like to find peace with your own timeline — whether you’re single, dating, married, or somewhere in between.

If you’ve ever felt behind in love, struggled with societal timelines, or questioned what partnership “should” look like, this episode is for you.

What starts as a common story about shopping for an anniversary dress turns into a vulnerable conversation about body image, self-worth, and what it means to exist in a world that isn’t built for body diversity. We share the all-too-familiar experience of trying on clothes that don’t fit, reflect on how weight fluctuations and chronic illness have shaped our self-perception, and explore the ways we’ve both been working toward body neutrality. This episode is an honest look at how our relationships with our bodies evolve — and how we can begin to show up with more compassion, no matter our size or season.

In this episode, we dive into the concept of concentric circles of connection and explore what it really means to build, nurture, and thrive in your community as an adult. We talk through each layer, putting an emphasis on intimacy and levels of trust that are appropriate for each and why not everyone belongs in your innermost circle — even though sometimes we desire closeness in all of our relationships.
Dolcie shares tools she’s been learning in therapy — how she's practicing remaining rooted in her values and needs to help ground herself, strengthen her relationships, and show up more authentically in all of her circles of community. If you’ve ever wondered how to balance depth and breadth in friendships, or how to show up as authentically as possible in your friendships, this is for you!

We’re kicking off our brand-new Story Time series—a more casual format where we share real stories from our lives. In this episode, we dive into the classic tale of how guys always seem to come back around, even when they are not welcome (aka the frequent flier problem). Tristen shares the discovery of a message request from an ex, and unpacks the full backstory—from how they first met to the very dramatic soap opera like breakup that followed.

If you’ve ever had an ex circle back into your life, this one’s for you. We talk about why this happens, what it stirs up emotionally, and how to navigate those unexpected reappearances.
